How Boomer helps Me (aka How a Bookkeeper can help you)

When I decided on the topic of today's blog post, I started to think how I could analogize that to Boomer the Boxer. The only thing I could think of was security. Boomer likes to monitor what is happening outside the house and he warns me of anything moving within a 10-mile area around the house. (I little literary exaggeration there.) This not only alerts me to any possible danger, but it also lets people walking by know that a large-ish dog resides in the house and they should probably go rob some other house.

I can't help you with security, but I can make sure your books are in order for your tax accountant or your bank. As your bookkeeper, I will properly categorize your expenses into separate accounts, so you can track which expenses need to be monitored.

I will also provide an accounts receivable (AR) aging report, so you will know when a customer is not paying their bill on time. Tracking your expenses and monitoring your AR balances will be supplemented with a Cash Flow report that will show you exactly where your cash is being spent and received. A Cash Flow report can also help with budgeting large purchases by showing your cash balance and how it is being spent.

The most important thing I can do for you is to save you time. Entering all the expenses and revenue into the system is time consuming and possibly monotonous. Being retired, I have the time to make sure everything is entered on a timely basis and accurately. I also have 25 years of experience in the accounting field, so I have the knowledge to properly allocate the costs to the proper account. (I have also spent many an hour entering monotonous data into spreadsheets.)
